I would like the opportunity to serve on the USD 305 school board because I would like to see marked change in the performance of the district. I was raised in a smaller town with a school district that was nationally ranked and I believe we can have the same or better for Salina. For too long, the parents have not been involved in the education of their children and I want to change that. Parents need to have a say in how and what we teach them. We also need to support our teachers by taking a close look at all of the requirements that we put on them and see which ones are actually helping to provide a better education and which ones are just causing more stress for them with no benefit.
